Cosplay Meetup Procedures

== How to host a meetup ==

1. Make sure you have the time, area/room, character list, photo suggestions, and game suggestions beforehand.

2. Arrive at the area 5-10 minutes before it starts.

3. If the room is ready, wait for people to start arriving. If it is not ready, set up the room by moving chairs to the side leaving an open wall for cosplayers to stand in front of

4. After waiting 5-10 from the start of the meetup go ahead and get everyone's attention, announce that you are hosting the meetup

5. Begin by separating the cosplayers and the photographers

6. Let the photographers set up in front of where the cosplayers will be posing

7. Pull out your list of photo suggestions and call out one i.e. family members, an idol group, or by season

8. Wait for the cosplayer called from that group to get in position

9. Tell them to pose and when they are finished signal the photographers

10. After 30 seconds stop the photographers and let the cosplayers change poses. Do this 2-3 times and move on to another group

11. Once you do all of the suggested groups ask the cosplayers/photographers for suggestions

12. If they have some do a few, If not then move on to the game suggestions

13. Announce that there are games everyone could play

14. If there are people interested, play a few games from the suggested list. If not then announce the start of mingle time until the end of the timeslot

15. Wait until the end of the timeslot to set the chairs back up for the next slot

SNAFU Con attempted their first Cosplay Cooldown room in 2014. The room went largely unused and was considered for elimination. They had it again in 2018, where it got moderate traffic, but was often used as a staff hangout. It will be back after the Lost Year as a designated room combined with the cosplay repair station.

Cosplay Department runs official cosplay related activities. Cosplay provides equipment for the cosplay repair station, hosts gatherings, and organizes the Masquerade. The Maid [[Cafe]] is currently fan-run. [[Peace Bonding]] of props is handled by the [[Rovers]]. Cosplay photography should be referred to [[Photography]].

The Masquerade is a major cosplay event, hosted on the Main Stage on Saturday. From Walk-ons, skits, dances, and the exhibition of costumes, each performance is judged and usually eligible for prizes. Cosplay staff are ineligible from entering the Masquerade. The board's measurements are 16.7 by 16.7 feet (200 1/2 inches) overall. Each square is about 2 by 2 feet (22 1/2 by 22 1/2 inches) with a 5 1/2 inch border around the outside of the entire board.

The main shop is hosted by Kobold's Keep, but due to old age will close sometime after midnight. There will still be free play and demos available.

== Running Your Own Game ==
We highly encourage attendees to host their own tabletop roleplaying game! From homebrew to 5e and everything in between, please send an email at tabletop@snafu.com for approval.

There are a few things of note:

* As SNAFU is an all ages convention, we highly encourage to keep the "tone" of the game PG-13. Please keep cursing or mature subject matters to a minimum.
* Please bring as many supplies as you can! We will be glad to supply some miniatures, dice, playmats, etc, but these may be in limited stock.
* Let us know what your ideal schedule would be like ahead of time so we can put your game into the convention schedule. There is no minimum nor maximum on how many sessions you will need to run. (Unless attempting to get required hours under a volunteer badge. Please discuss this with the Tabletop heads in advance.)

==Kobold's Keep==
Kobold's Keep is the store, now under it's own Vendor banner. The Snacks sold will not infringe upon the casino's selection and proceeds go directly to the convention. (Snacks are bought on wholesale by Yim's Grocery.)
