These are some options for consideration for lighting stages

The first option is requesting lighting from the Nugget

  • The current pricing schedule for the Nugget lists a variety of options with the "stage lighting" package listed at $100. This is just a simple stage wash, which is most likely all we would need.
    • The pricing does not list a time-period. Is it daily? hourly? 4-hour blocks? Not sure.
    • It also does not specify whether or not a technician from the Nugget must be present. If so, technician rates are $40/hr with a 4 hour minimum, and anything over 8 hours is charged at $60/hour.
  • The price list for the Nugget's A/V options can be found here: JA Nugget A/V

The second option is renting equipment through a local A/V supplier called Starsound Audio

  • Currently the most expensive option, but Starsound is a reliable and trusted local business
    • Starsound offers a variety of options with the least expensive being a set of 4 Mega Tri Par LED lights on a crossbar for $100/day with subsequent days half-price.
      • This package comes with a light controller and a stand as well as all required cables and connectors
      • Depending on the power of the lights, we may need to consider getting two sets
    • The information for this set can be found here: Starsound Audio, Inc.

The third option is to purchase our own lighting

  • Amazon and other retailers often have deals on simple, lightweight lighting rigs, allowing us to keep lighting as a one-time cost with future costs limited to maintenance.
  • One cost effective set is the MBT Lighting PARPACK_13728 Mobile Lighting System which is available from a variety of retailers for approx. $170
    • This set comes with four par cans, a stand, and controller.
    • The lights cannot be dimmed, but they can be set to flash to music or just stay steady
    • Colored gels can be purchased to control the harshness of the lights
    • Estimated throw of the lights is only 10', so two sets would be recommended
    • Information on this set can be found here: Amazon
  • This is only one option, there are others that are slightly more expensive
  • The above option is less expensive upfront, but the cost of upkeep may prove to be not worth the time or money involved.
  • The following option is more expensive upfront but would be useful and need less upkeep
    • Amazon
    • The list price on Amazon is $507.99
    • The cost is for two sets of four LED lights on stands with basic controllers. It comes with carrying cases for the lights and stands

A major consideration for all of the above is the placement of the stands and whether or not they need to be moved for the rave as the rave is sharing space with main stage for now
