Our primary goal is to capture the attendees enjoying the convention and well as panels and events.
Requirements
- Have a camera which can shoot raw
- Know how to use it
- Have the uncanny ability to be at the right place at the right time
- Shoot in Raw
Responsibilities
- Photograph attendees enjoying the con
- Photograph panels and events
- Do not photograph Beta (Vice Chair)
- Follow all Staff and Con Policies
- Setup and tear down the Photo Booth
- Man the Photo Booth
Photo Booth
SNAFU Con has its own photo booth setup. This includes backdrop and always on CFL Lights with umbrellas.
Tips
- Set your white balance
- Make sure your camera’s internal clock is set correctly and synced with other staff cameras
- Focus on the eyes
- Use the rule of third
- Think about the entire photo besides the subject
- Ask your subject to move so you can use a wall as a backdrop
- Ask your subject if you can take their picture
- Know when to break the rules (of photography, not the con)
- Go to panels/events
- Rave (could make some good long exposure shots. Maybe use a flash?)
