Exporting Badges for Printing

Badges are generated out of BACON, adjusted in the code by hand, and regenerated as necessary. Once they are generated, a SQL query is run to mark them as "exported."

Badges are exported as individual PNG files. After they are exported, an additional script is run that combines all the badges in that folder into full pages. Adobe Acrobat is utilized for combining the PNG pages into a final PDF (or multiple PDFs) sent to the printer.

To update Acrobat to be able to combine the files losslessly

1. Open Acrobat
2. Open Preferences
3. Convert To PDF
4. Select PNG
5. Update Grayscale and Color to "Zip"

Combining the files into a PDF

1. Make sure the settings for converting PNG to PDF are correct (see above)
2. Select the pages in windows explorer
3. Right click and select "Combine supported files in acrobat"
4. Select the largest file size option
5. Click the button to Combine the files
6. Wait
7. Save the file to Dropbox to send to the printer
