2021 Ideas

The 2021 ideas channel was mostly about how we were going to handle our new COVID policies and keep everyone as safe as possible.

Marketing

• Make it clear through marketing materials that masks are required, not just encouraged (Aminomiko)
• Start with strongly worded "Masks required" messaging, can loosen later if needed (Dragon_paragon)

Signage

• Theme signage encouraging masks for "avoiding hostile agents" etc (Cupcakedoll)

Contracts

• Add cancelation policy language to merchant and guest contracts for possibility of cancellation (Beta.mfd)

Venue

• Rentable handwashing stations not likely feasible due to cost and venue rules (Cupcakedoll)

Vendors

• Increase vendor prices for decreased vendors due to layout changes (Beta.mfd)
• Do refunds rather than rollovers if cancellation occurs (Nurikowindchaser, Dragon_paragon)

Registration

• Have signage that masks are required, not just encouraged (Aminomiko, Cupcakedoll)
• Do not allow one person to handle entire registration flow for multiple groups (Tjsomething)
• Do not allow laminator person to do anything else at same time (Tjsomething)
• Communicate any registration flow changes to senior staff (Samschuler)

Merchandise

• Sell cloth masks as swag if budget allows, could encourage mask policy (Bloominninja)

Equipment Needs

• "Dirty" and "clean" pen buckets for registration (Samschuler)

Event Ideas

• Cardboard box city building and kaiju event on main stage (Dragon_paragon)
