Our primary goal is to capture the attendees enjoying the convention and well as panels and events.

Requirements

  • Have a camera which can shoot raw
  • Know how to use it
  • Have the uncanny ability to be at the right place at the right time
  • Shoot in Raw

Responsibilities

  • Photograph attendees enjoying the con
  • Photograph panels and events
  • Do not photograph Beta (Vice Chair)
  • Follow all Staff and Con Policies

Tips

  • Set your white balance
  • Make sure your camera’s internal clock is set correctly and synced with other staff cameras
  • Focus on the eyes
  • Use the rule of third
  • Think about the entire photo besides the subject
  • Ask your subject to move so you can use a wall as a backdrop
  • Ask your subject if you can take their picture
  • Know when to break the rules (of photography, not the con)
  • Go to panels/events
  • Rave (could make some good long exposure shots. Maybe use a flash?)
