Info

If you've been to SNAFU Con before, you just might have some already! Achievements and points are based on participation. The more you do the more you get.

Please keep in mind that some things haven't been tracked before (like masquerade participation) so they will start in 2014, while others (like peace bonding) have detailed records back to 2010. So if you're missing something you think you should have, you can contact us, but we might not be able to help you.

Achievement Icon

The icon for an achievement needs to look good at large and ridiculously small sizes.

The achievement is going to

  • Print at something like 1/4” or so on everyone’s badges
  • Display at 300px wide on the internet
  • Possibly be used as 3” buttons
  • Possibly be printed as a T-shirt

Whenever possible the achievement should be vector art. If it’s not possible to design as vector, it should be designed as large as possible.

Achievements are displayed online at 300px x 300px. Traditionally they are enclosed with a circle stroke, and the area outside the circle is transparent.

Choose Your Achievements

We will be adding achievements to the bottom of people's badges

  • If you have a bunch you will either have them displayed randomly, or you can select which ones.

Limit of 5 per year

  • The system will only save the first 5 you select. You have space for 5 achievements on your badge and the spaces will be filled with random achievements you have if you do not select enough to fill them.

Rules for new achievements

  • Must be something attendees can work towards at any point in the future. We have a couple exceptions to this rule and we do not want more.
  • We need to be able to easily track achievements. Generally this requires code changes so the senior BACON team will need to evaluate suggestions. Also, really think about how we're getting that information at-con, if it's an at-con receivable achievement. We want to avoid "DMV Con" with lots of paperwork to get achievements.
  • We need art for the achievements. If you want to provide art, the art needs to be in a square canvas, no smaller than 300x300 pixels. It must be distinguishable when printed at a half inch tall and it should fit in a circle.
  • We need creative names for achievements. The punnier the better.
