Accessing Quickbooks

Prerequisite Software

To access our quickbooks files you must have the following software:

• QuickBooks Premier 2017, Manufacturing and Wholesale Edition.
• VeraCrypt

Prerequisite Veracrypt Setting

Something needs to be set up to ensure it saves changes to dropbox or dropbox won't see changes and won't sync it.

1. Mounting The Files

1. Before mounting files, make sure that no one else has the file mounted by checking the the Admin Workgroup feed.
2. Post in the Admin Workgroup feed ("General" section above) that you are mounting QuickBooks so that someone else won't mount it.
3. Open VeraCrypt
4. Select a drive letter to mount the files to (I like to use "Q" for QuickBooks, but any letter will do as long as you always choose the same one)
5. Click "Select File . . . "
6. Browse to and select the QuickBooks file (currently "2017 QuickBooks", shared in Dropbox due to Dropbox's syncing and stability over Bitrix)
7. Click "Mount"
8. Type in the VeraCrypt volume password (Shared via LastPass) and click "OK"

If you did everything right, our company QuickBooks files are now mounted and available on the drive letter you chose in step 2.

2. Open QuickBooks Files

1. Open QuickBooks
2. Browse to and open the file if necessary
3. Use your username and password to access the file.

3. When done, Dismount and exit VeraCrypt!!!

1. IMPORTANT: DROPBOX FILES WILL NOT SYNC UNTIL YOU HAVE CLICKED "DISMOUNT"
2. Post in the same location that you posted in step 1.1 that QuickBooks is now dismounted and available for use once synced.
