The Tech Department is responsible for handling all of the audio, video, and lighting needs at SNAFU Con.
That We Do
Pre-Convention Setup
- Transporting, setting up, and testing all AV equipment for the convention
- Installing speakers, projectors, screens, microphones, mixers, lighting fixtures, cabling etc. in all convention spaces including Main Stage, Panel Rooms, Video Rooms, Workshops, Second Stage, Rave, and more
- Creating setup diagrams and documentation for each space
- Training staff and volunteers on proper equipment operation
Support During Convention
- Operating live audio at Main Stage events like Masquerade, concerts, charity auction, etc.
- Monitoring equipment and quickly troubleshooting any technical issues
- Resetting and adjusting equipment between panels and events
- Providing AV support for guests and attendees as needed
- Overseeing equipment checkout for staff use
Post-Convention
- Tearing down all AV equipment and returning any possible rentals
- Inspecting gear for damage and organizing inventory
- Making budget requests for new equipment
