Cosplay Panels
Tasks
- Encourage cosplayers to run panels (cosplay staff included)
- Help cosplayers sign up for panels
- Make sure Programming schedules panels
- Make sure panelists show up to their panels
Process
Getting Cosplay Panels:
- The cosplay department puts out calls on social media and local cosplay groups for panel submissions
- Experienced cosplayers may be directly contacted and invited to consider hosting panels
- When the general panel submission form opens, cosplay staffers may reach out to encourage cosplayers to apply
- Cosplayers submit their panel topics/descriptions through the standard submission process
- Cosplay reviews the submissions and advocates to get quality proposals accepted
Managing Cosplay Panels:
- Once panels are accepted, Programming schedules days/times/rooms
- Cosplay provides guidance to panelists on presentation tips and equipment if needed
- Panel descriptions get edited and posted to the website and schedule by programming staff
- Cosplay staff creates posts and provides them to Marketing staff to post on social media to promote the panels
- Cosplay staffers occasionally stop in to check on the panels during the con
- If any panelist is a no-show, Cosplay works with Programming to cover or reschedule if possible
- After panels conclude, Cosplay solicits feedback from attendees and panelists. This feedback is used to improve the cosplay panel process for the next convention
